I was just looking at my blog… and I feel a bit ashamed because I have just started to work on it “seriously”, so some blog posts, pages and shops are still half done.
But I have learnt that “imperfect” is better than “not published”.
And I have had the idea of sharing with you (if someone reads it while making it!) all the steps I´m doing to create a money making blog.
I have to say that this is not my first blog, and I have made several amazing courses, so I’m not starting exactly from 0, but that´s why I’m creating now CoolBusinessMom, to teach all that I have been learning! And I’m so excited about it!! 😀
This time I have started this blog in a different way. I’ll tell you about it.
Ok, so let´s start this adventure:
Work I have done before posting blog posts:
- The first think I did (and that´s why I say I started from a different point of view), is to create an Esty shop, with digital products. It still doesn´t have a lot of listings, but I have some sales already.
- I created this web, having as a home page a “coming soon” page done with Elementor (love it!!).
- I created a logo in Canva, just with 2 type of fonts (simple is better!)
- I applied for some affiliate programs (Amazon and courses and tools I use and recomend)
- I have created digital products for my Etsy shop (mainly instagram templates)
- I have think about the kind of content I want to share, and what kind of products I want to create.
- I created a businessPinterest account for CoolBusinessMom (very important!!)
- I created also a YouTube account (which Im not using right now, but who knows..!). Like this I also prevent that someone else take my name.
- I created a Facebook fan page. (which has 0 followers by now).
I would suggest checking your brand name on some pages like namecheckr.com before buying a domain name, and create accounts on the main social media, even if you are not using them at the beginning.
(Then…. some months passed away…. and I didn’t touch the blog… until now!)
What I’m doing my first month blogging “seriously”
And by “seriously” I mean that now I’m working at least some time on it every day.
If you are starting from 0, you can perfectly follow or have these steps as a reference, and create products and add affiliate links later. At the end, it´s the same result.
WEEK 1 Working on CoolBusinessMom blog (16-23 Sept 2021)
- I have done a freebie using Canva and a landing page and forms using ConvertKit.
- I have done some blog posts where I can insert my freebie and affiliate links when relevant.
- I purchased some of the cheapest gigs on Fiverr to create some of the posts, which then, I re-write them to add my style of writting, and I add links or images.
- I have done some pins for the blog posts and for the landing pages to my freebie.
Notes:
— I was for 4 days checking my freebie, because it didn’t convince me, and every time I look at it I wanted to change something, or add something. So I just published it, and maybe in the near future, I change or add something.
